Description

IC 342 (also known as Caldwell 5) is an intermediate spiral galaxy in the constellationCamelopardalis, located relatively close to the Milky Way. Despite its size and actual brightness, its location behind dusty areas near the galactic equator makes it difficult to observe, leading to the nickname "The Hidden Galaxy"

Shot this with my OSC camera over a few nights from my backyard. I wanted to work on my processing of something a bit more faint.  I was surprised at the size of this galaxy considering I had never heard of it.  I have to admit I'm a fan of spiral galaxies so I continue to enjoy imaging them. I took more subs then I have historically as I really wanted to push on my OSC images a bit to see what I would get.   Deconvolution continues to be an art that I'm working on....
