Description

Nov 8th, 2020 - The asteroid 610 Valeska

I was stacking my subs of NGC1333 that I captured using the Celestron EdgeHD 9.25" with Hyperstar Adapter and ASI183MM camera, and to my surprise I found a thick line within the rejection map, when I ran all my subs in a sequence I was amazed that I captured an Asteroid by mistake.

Used SkySafari 6 Pro, set the same field of view, date and time and there it was, the asteroid name is (610) Valeska, the absolute magnitude +12.5 which is very dim for a Bortle 6 zone, but that was not a problem for the Hyperstar, indeed amazing.

Valeska is an asteroid discovered in 1906 by Max Wolf, a large rock that orbits the Sun mainly between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter.

My Subs started from 9:05pm until 5:00am and in the images I marked the asteroid in the Zoomed section, I also included a video of the cropped region in the FB link were you can easily see the movement of the asteroid, hope you like it.
