Description

From way back when I started my love of astronomy, this beautiful cluster has always been one of my favorites to observe with binoculars or visually through a telescope.

Consists of the open clusters NGC 869 and NGC 884, close together in the constellation Perseus, both visible with the naked eye at a distance of 7,500 light years.

About twice the size of the full moon, can be easily seen with the unaided eye under a dark sky, very close to Cassiopeia's W shape.
