Description

Compilation of Mars images from the morning of October 18, 2020 taken with a mono camera under average seeing and transparency. Mars was showing a disc ~22 arcsecs in diameter at magnitude of -2.5. This was my first attempt at generating an RGB image of Mars from a series of mono planetary camera captures with this compilation showing the individual channels as well as a singe capture in IR. Working on a comparison of results from this new and my previous planetary imaging setups using images from this session.

RGB image and R/G/B channel images (ASI290MM + R/G/B filters): https://astrob.in/sxmdsi/0/

IR image: Imaged with a C8 Evo, ZWO filter wheel, ZWO 850nm pass filter, Siebert 2x barlow, ZWO ADC, and ZWO ASI290MM. Imaging train was configured to give ~F/18 (0.165 arcsec/pixel). Image capture using Firecapture with gain/exposure set at: 350/5.5 ms. Stacking in AutoStakkert3 (best 10% of ~50000 frames captured over 240 sec . Wavelet sharpening in Registax6.
