Description

Here's my version of M31.
Details of the image -
This image was captured on multiple nights with different setups.

About data acquisition -
RGB - 4 Panel mosaic
Telescope used - TS optics 102 CF Apo
Camera - ASI2600MM
Exposures -  120 x 120s exposures (4 Hours)
Why 4 Panel when ASI2600MM and 714FL can cover the Andromeda FOV? - Although the flatter did a good job in flattening the images, the edges were not perfect.
I just did a 4X4 mosaic with 50% overlay to average out the bad stars at the edges and ultimately crop the edges that we're not up to my expectation.
Fiddling with the backspace is a solution, but I don't want to waste time with  backspace tuning, as I rarely get imaging time.

Luminance - 9 Panel Mosaic
Telescope - Esprit 150ED
Camera - ASI294MM
Exposures - 180 X 300s Exposures (15 hours)

About processing -
I tried Russel Croman's BlurXterminator in my work flow as a replacement for my usual deconvolution method.
I am still testing the tool but at this time, I am happy with the results. However, I still see some new details added that actually doesn't seem to exist. But it overall does a good job compared to my traditional decon methods. Russel's BlurXterminator focuses to avoid over sharpening, which is nice, but, I did over sharpen the images at the later steps.

Pixinsight workflow -
1. Preprocess in WBPP
2. DBE/ABE on all images -> Image solver -> MosaiceByCordinates -> TrimMosaicfile -> Photometric mosaic ( Step my step, all the files)
3. DBE touch ups on all channels
4. StarAlignment and rescaling to all channels (due to different telescopes used)
5. Lumanince -> BlurXterminator -> Denoise -> Stretch -> EZHDR -> slight Sharpening (MLT+USM average)
6. RGB channels -> Linear fit -> ChannelCombination -> Imagesolver -> SPCC -> RepairedHSVSeparation -> EZ soft stretch -> ColorSaturation -> LRGBCombination -> Masks/CurvesTransformation/DarkStructureEnhancer/SCNR for colors
(Usually I perform a separate RGB workflow for masked stretch and replace the stars from masked stretch on the starless image from EZ Softstretch, but this looked okay and hence no extra steps taken to fix star color)

I'll be happy to hear your thoughts and feedbacks.
Thanks,
Deepan
