Description

Still working on PixInsight.  I still have to use PhotoShop for final details.  There was a time when I used Nebulosity 4 for stacking and aligning.  Now I use Deep Sky Stacker, which is much easier.  I know this is better than the "old" way, but not sure how.  I spend much more time processing than ever, but it seems to be worth it.

Title: M 106

Description: I found that I am clipping the hazy area around the target by adjusting the sky darkness using Levels in Photoshop. I have always made my sky too dark. It should actually be a bit grey. I went back to Pix and used Dynamic Background Extraction and finished with Levels in PS but left the Dark at about "26" and gained a lot of the outer regions of the galaxy.

Description: I have been making my sky too dark and have been clipping detail off the galaxy. I went back to Pix and used the Dynamic Background Extraction then went to PS Levels but left the DARK at 26. I still have the horizontal dark line but that's coming from the raw frames. I am going to switch filters from L-eNhance to CLS-CCD to see what difference that might make.
