Description

This is what threw me into the rabbit hole of astrophotography. Before this I only used my camera for landscapes, birds, and the occasional Milky Way shot. Always unedited. This was taken July 26, 2020 during a backpacking trip to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, untracked with a Sony A6600 and a Rokinon 135mm (f/2.8, 8s, ISO 3200). This trip was planned almost a year in advanced, so Neowise showing up a couple of months before hand was a very nice surprise. At this point Neowise was already fading and we need binoculars to see it despite the dark skies and being in the mountains. Regardless, capturing a unique celestial event on camera put me on the path to spending a lot of money over next few months. First I had to look up how others took such amazing shots which pointed me star trackers, which led to wide field scopes like the Redcat, by which point it was too late. So now I'm in it for the long haul.
