Description

On the left, a large emission nebula that seems to trace the continent that it was named after - The North America Nebula (NGC 7000). To the top right is the Pelican Nebula (IC 5070). These two bright nebulae are over 2,000 light-years away from us, part of a large and complex star forming region that stretches across 140 light years. These nebulas appear red due to strong emissions in the Hydrogen alpha region.
