Description

Sharpless 290, also cataloged as Abel 31, is a very large, and very dim, planetary nebula.
It's about 20 light-years in diameter, and about 2000 light years away from earth.
If you could see it with the naked eye, it's about half the diameter of the moon.

This is probably the faintest target I've imaged. It barely shows up on a 5 minute subframe.

Imaged over 5 nights. I acquired a total of 388 5 minute subs with an L-Ultimate filter. Of those, 312 made it into the Hα stack, and 316 made it into the Oiii stack.
