Description

The eastern part of the Veil nebula, taken from the high desert outside of Taos, New Mexico. The altitude there is 2,100 meters, and the sky transparency is generally good. When I took these subs, the temperature was about 10 C and the waning crescent moon was not up, so it was a wonderful night for trying to capture the Veil. This was the result of 240 subs of 30 sec each. I was trying to take images I could make into a mosaic showing the full extent of the veil, but I ran out of time in New Mexico, so something to try for next year.
