Description

21 million years ago a star went supernova and exploded in M101, the Pinwheel Galaxy. The light emitted from that supernova has travelled those 21 million years to end its journey on my camera sensor, resulting in this image.

Supernovae are so bright they outshine the galaxy they reside in, making this looks like a star in our own galaxy despite the fact it's trillions of miles away!
