Description

5000 light years away from Earth and spanning 130 light years in diameter lays The Rosette Nebula (C49)! The Rosette Nebula sits in the unicorn shaped constellation called Monoceros. The massive stars at its core give off radiation, this is responsible for giving the nebula its unique and beautiful shape.  I first imaged this nebula back in February 2021; looking back on my first version I was happy to see how I’ve improved since then.  Despite being roughly the same integration time; I’ve since been able to bring out more structure, colors, and fainter details on this run. I attribute this to both better equipment and better processing skills, however I can still improve. I took this image over two nights back in February 2022, Thanks for looking!
