Actually, this take almost didn't happen at all.... That evening, clouds decided to populate my sky and so, I wasn't exactly motivated to drive up the hill to try some comet shooting. Not even look outside my window. However, finally I found myself driving up the hill, just to let Neo play hide & seek with me..... lol
)
"What a stupid idea?!" I kept ranting while keeping the camera triggered for some hundred times..... followed by "what a waste of time and data storage?!" while well-behaved making flats, darks, biasses.... lol
It also cost me quite an effort, to even begin processing the data as I expected a bouquet of "more or less nebulosity" with a brighter spot somewhere at the center of it. After stacking 64 from 103 this didn't change much, although the clouds started looking somewhat interesting due to a very restrictive outlier rejection setting. After DBE, everything changed! What I saw was not exactly what I expected from a comet image but still, somehow the color play of the scenery impressed me in a way. And an astonishingly prominent Neo ontop of this.... "Okaaay, you won, I'll continue..." ;-)
Actually, I didn't do much more from here, just the regular basics, not even a mask was used (except ACDNR, of course). The rather challenging part was to choose the best cut for a crop. Landscape or portrait? Which cloud in, which one out? Hmm, I had to sleep this over, couldn't make a choice. So, what you see is one of two choices I made in the morning. Landscape!
The other choice was portrait - including a funny and dark "cloud-e-fact" at the bottom of the picture (which is not visible here).
