M101 - The Pinwheel Galaxy

I finally got the blues to show up on the spiral arms.

I did more sharpening on the core and lightened it up a bit. I'm still weak in the blues but for now this is it !! Well, maybe not, if it's clear tonight I might gather more images with my blue filter ????

Another reprocess, this time when I removed the Red from the Ha image I removed much more to isolate the nebulosity regions before adding the result back  to the Red.
I did the same thing with Oiii and blue. This helped bring out a bit more of the blue star formation regions. There are a lot of artifacts, probably from too much processing, but one day I hope to streamline the processing to help clean up the final image. One step back and two forward.

I reprocessed this image and picked up more detail and changed the colors. I learned some things processing M63 and applied what I learned to this galaxy. But, when I look at John Hayes version of this galaxy I realize that I'm still not there. I'm not picking up the blue star forming areas and I haven't figured it out yet, but I will keep at it until I've got it.

I used ChannelCombination instead of PixelMath to put the Red,Green and Blue channels together and the colors were much better. I don't know why but I will take it.

I redid the processing in PixInsight and the colors are still not what I was hoping for, but otherwise I like the image.

I used Lightroom to remove the pink tint that colored the entire galaxy. Next time I will try to do it in PixInsight but for now it was very easy using Lightroom.

I watched several videos on adding Ha to the Red and Oiii to the Blue. I'm pretty pleased with what I have. But, there is always room for improvement !!!

I was careful NOT to overdo any of the PixInsight processes, I think my final image is a fair representation of the galaxy.

I am having trouble getting the blue star forming areas to show on the final image. I think they are being overpowered by Red nebulosity.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I reprocessed this image with the same data minus the luminance. I got rid of subs that had mediocre quality.
