Abell 85 is a supernova remnant in Cassiopeia. It is also a radio source (CTB-1). Abell 85 is a quite a dark object that emits light in the emission colors of hydrogen (Ha), sulfur (SII) and oxygen (OIII). The OIII emission is quite weak and the brighter structures are built up by SII and Ha. While SII is not as present in the background as Ha the brighter locations of the two emission colors are more or less identical. To show all three gas emission signals I gave SII the advantage over Ha in the bright structures and let Ha dominate the background. SII and Ha both shine in red colors. To have them separated in the image SII is represented in yellow color tones, Ha in red and OIII in blue tones. The stars are shown in their original colors.
