Description

Top Left: Arp 319 , also known as Hickson Compact Group 92 and Stephan's Quintet was first discovered in 1877 by Édouard Stephan from the Marseille Observatory. NGC numbering is NGC 7317, NGC 7318, NGC 7319 and NGC 7320. There is physical interaction between the galaxies, resulting in turbulent molecular hydrogen formation from the shockwave of the interactions.

Bottom Right: NGC 7331 and companions (the total also known as the Deer Lick group). Interestingly, NGC 7331 is about the same size as our Milky Way, but with a different morphology as our Milky Way is believed to be a barred spiral.

There is a multitude of other galaxies in the field that platesolve unfortunately fails to identify. The field also contains a lot of stars and some IFN. I have worked to keep the starsizes under control, at the expense of losing some of the IFN.
