Description

Supernova Remnant CTB-1/Abell-85 is 10,000 light years distant, placed in the constellation Cassiopeia.  It was identified by CalTech as a radio source, but it was originally thought to be a planetary nebula, and why it was cataloged as Abell 85.It has an apparent diameter of a half a degree, so the size of a full moon, and it is extremely faint.It also looks like a popped balloon with air leaking out of the NorthWest side. (North is up in the image).
