Description

The Helix Nebula is a spectacular planetary nebula in the constellation Aquarius, located about 650 LY away from Earth (one of the closest PNs to us!) There are lots of interesting things to see in the nebula, but I'm afraid my version is a bit lackluster due to short integration times and sub-optimal sessions. It's been a pretty atrocious winter for astrophotography for me and throwing in a big move to a new place it's been hard to find enough good clear nights to capture data. Regardless, I still think it looks pretty neat.

I did capture some Sii data on this target as well, but it's pretty weak and I struggled to find a good way to integrate the data without diluting the better details in the Ha and Oiii data. Always open to some thoughts on that.

I hope you enjoy!

Title: Adding in a few more hours of data

Description: I wasn't entirely happy with the data I collected up to the first revision, so I've been spending a few more clear nights with decent seeing collecting more subs. I think I'm happy with it for this year, and am especially pleased with how some of the central details/structure have come out. Processing isn't perfect so I may take another shot in the future, until now here's the final version in HOO.
