Description

FIrst cut at an image of the Helix Nebula, also known as NGC 7293, a planetary nebula located in the constellation Aquarius.  The nebula lies about 650 light-years away from Earth.  The data is from 18 ten minute exposures: 6 each for RGB.  Captured on 8/22/22 via staff at the iTelescope observatory in Siding Spring Observatory in Coonabarabran, New South Wales, Australia using a 20 inch PLANEWAVE CDK reflector and a FLI-ML16200 camera.  Data stacked and processed with Pixinsight, Windows, and Apple edit.
