Description

The Crab Nebula, Messier Object #1, is a supernova remnant in the constellation Taurus. It lies within the Perseus arm of the Milky Way galaxy, about 6500 light years from earth. The Crab Pulsar, a neutron star, lies in the center of the nebula. In terms of size, it is about 11 light years in diameter.
