Description

IC 1795 (the Fishhead Nebula) is a bright emission nebula about 70 light-years in diameter with glowing gas and dark streaks of dust, named for its fish-head shape. It lies just over 6,000 light-years from Earth near the Heart Nebula (IC 1805), in the constellation Cassiopeia. This nebula is part of a complex of star-forming regions located at the edge of a large molecular cloud.
