Description

The final image.

First it was only a test.

Only one object - IC 1318 B -

My intention was to test a new location.

Then followed the second object - IC 1318 A -.

Then I read something about mosaic images and how to assemble them in Pixinsight.

Surprised by the results, I decided to continue.

I planned the next 6 quadrants with the help of a planetarium program "Sky-Map Pro 11".

In the following months I continued the work.

Photographed one quadrant after the other.

To get the exact coordinates I chose the center of the photographic field.

This way I could determine the RA and DEC coordinates.

With these I could assign the exact position to my mount and Maxim DL.

"Pin Point" then realized that the mount always moved to the same position.

This was important when I had to photograph the same quadrant over several nights.

I photographed at three different locations in Germany.

- Gebaberg

- at home

- Starry world Vogelsberg

Overall, I was also able to test how well my mount worked.

And the mount did a very good job.

In the last few days I have now processed all the images.

The total exposure time is almost 61 hours.

The image processing was mainly done in Pixinsight.

Whereby an 8x mosaic in Pixinsight was a big challenge for my computer.

In conclusion, however, I can say....

...mission successful.

And now on to new shores. Now I know what is possible.

Best regards

Matthias
