Description

Wanted to image a small galaxy at f/10. On the 8SE, this meant no field flattener or focal reducer. Chose this object, the Little Sombrero Galaxy, about 40 million light-years away. As a bonus, there's the little smudge at the bottom (and some other smudges dotted around). The little smudge is IC 5381, a 14th magnitude spiral galaxy seen edge-on. It is 539 million light-years from Earth.
