The Wizard Nebula
This image is the magic of persistence! I started capturing data in November 2023, even though the season for this nebula was almost over. ⏳ With limited windows each night (only 2-3 hours!), I patiently collected data on the nebula’s faint glow and vibrant stars.
Even juggling other targets, I’m thrilled to share the final edit with you all in January 2024!
The Wizard Nebula (Sharpless 142 or SH2-142 for short) is a diffuse nebula surrounding the developing open star cluster NGC 7380. It spans about 140 × 75 light-years and lies within our Milky Way Galaxy, about 7,200 light years away in the constellation of Cepheus. It is moving toward us at 34.13 kilometers per second.

Exposure: Total :- Total 35 Hrs ( Ha 600secs * 76 subs, Oiii 600secs * 75 subs, Sii 600secs * 41subs, RGB each filters 60Secs * 60subs)
Calibration Frame: 40 Darks, 40 Flats, 40 Dark Flats for each filters
