Description

A few firsts for Astrobin. I recently made a serious OTA upgrade and got a Stellarvue SVX102T! More to come on that - it's collecting data for its "DSO Debut".

I was browsing iOptron's website last week and discovered that they now offer a small selection of planetary imaging (or guiding) cameras! I picked up the 462C on a whim, having heard great things about the sensor. I tested it out a couple of nights ago with a moon mosaic. I have NO experience with "real" lunar photography, other than my point-and-shoot for the partial eclipse last year. As such, this is a novice effort with Sharpcap/Autostakkert/Registax. I mistakenly left the color profile set to "Mono" in Sharpcap during capture, so this shows no color data. Seeing was awful, and I needed a diagonal to reach focus with the camera. The diagonal was likely the weakest link in the optical train.

The image consists of 6 panels, each ~1000 frames (2ms exposure I think?). The best 250 frames were stacked, with the resulting frames merged in Photoshop.
