Description

I recently chanced upon images of this galaxy and was fascinated by the shape and structure of it's stellar 'parasol' and wondered if my gear was up to the challenge of capturing it.  The umbrella tidal trail is a stream of stars stripped from a smaller galaxy that ventured too close at some point in the past and it is extremely faint!  It couldn't actually be seen in the individual subs and 1050mm of focal length isn't really enough to do the object justice.  But with some selective stretching I was able to pull more detail out.  The galaxy itself is around 50 million light years away in the constellation of Coma Berenices.
