Description

The Integrated Flux Nebula in the region of the sky around M81 and M82. I shot this over 5 sessions with my mono-converted Canon 60D and H-a modded Canon 600D with my Rokinon 135mm f/2 lens and iExos-100 mount. Three sessions went to luminosity data with the mono DSLR, and the other two for RGB with the other DSLR. The subs from the two cameras were integrated separately and then combined as LRGB in Astro Pixel Processor. Each session was calibrated with 30 each darks, flats, and dark flats with an additional 50 bias to scale the darks.

The LRGB image was then run through Starnet++ and brought into GIMP for finishing touches and star reintroduction.

Description: Reprocessed in PixInsight with even more IFN.

Description: Hazier version with a more generous sprinkling of smaller stars. I found the star color a little distracting so desaturated it a bit. Although I lost a bit of the definition in the IFN, I like the more subtle dust clouds.
