Description

I decided to capture an image of M81 with my new SCT. Despite some periodic transparency issues and the object not being in the darkest part of the sky,  the result was decent.

The galaxy has so many nebula and star clusters to scrutinize along with dozens of globular clusters brighter than 21s magnitude to hunt down. I have attached an image (Rev B) of the core marking a few of these objects. There are many more in the outskirts, but I there were so many that it was hard to label them all the way I was doing it.

Each 6 minute sub was a live stack of 72 x 5 second exposures.
