Description

Submitted here is a wide field image of the Reflection/Emission complex which includes IC-405 and IC-410. IC-405, known also as the Flaming Star Nebula (SH2-229), surrounds the bright irregular variable star AE Aurigae, which gives the nebula its bluish, indigo hue.  This complex lies about 1500 light years from Earth.   IC-410 contains the open cluster NGC 1893 and also, the famous "tadpoles" which are revealed in detail in the starless image in the revision area. The open cluster, M-38 is making an appearance in the lower left corner of the image.  All information is courtesy of Wikipedia.
