Description

NGC 3628 is situated in Leo, member of the Leo Triplet with M65 and M66, at 38 mil l-y. It is also called the Hamburger galaxy or Sarah's galaxy (although I don't know who Sarah was). It was discovered by William Herschel.

I imaged it from my broadband 'friendly' light polluted backyard. I did not manage to gather enough exposure for the tidal tail, which is probably a lost hope under my local skies. As usual, more is better, but 9h produced an acceptable result. The image was created with Drizzle Integration and the colors were calibrated using Photometric Color Calibration, with a pretty good linear correlation.
