Bei dieser Aufnahme liefen einige Dinge schief. Ich war schlecht vorbereitet und der Mond schien noch recht lange. Daher konnten viele Teilaufnahmen dieser Nacht nicht genutzt werden. Dann hatte ich mich erstmals an APT versucht, bin aber mit der Bedienung und den Funktionen des Programms nicht so schnell klargekommen. Bisher verwendete ich BackyardEOS, was wesentlich übersichtlicher gestaltet ist. Für den Umstieg auf eine EQ6 ist APT aber sicher sinnvoller. Dann hatte ich Probleme mit der USB-Verbindung meiner Kamera. Aus unerklärlichen Gründen verlor der Rechner immer wieder die USB-Verbindung. Kurz gesagt: In dieser Nacht lief leider nicht alles nach Plan. Erstaunlich ist daher, dass ich doch noch 80 Minuten brauchbare Belichtungszeit zusammenklauben konnte. Damit bin ich erst einmal zufrieden.

During this exposure, a lot of things went wrong. I was badly prepared and the moon was out for quite a long time. It was the first time I used APT and I could not get used to the user interface as fast as I wanted to. Usually I use BackyardEOS, which is much easier to handle. But for using an EQ6-mount in the near future, APT seems to be the better program. Then I had a lot of problems with the USB connection of my camera. For unknown reasons, the device permanently disconnected from the laptop. Long things short: In this night, things were really not as planned. But I am surprised, that I had 80 Minutes of "good" exposure time to generate a nice image. It's far from perfect, but it is an image I am happy with.

Submitted The date and time when you submitted this image for IOTD/TP consideration.	...
Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
