Description

Completely overshadowed by it near neighbour (NGC8188 aka Dragons of Ara), RCW 105 or Gum 51 is a moderately faint emission nebula in Norma.   There are only a few images of RCW105 on Astrobin, and I fear this may be the least of them.

Despite giving is over 12hours on the RC8, the emission nebula remains faint, with very little [OIII] present.  This is contrast to a couple of other images here, were the blue [OIII] is clearly seen in the centre.  This is also a strange [OIII] ghost around one of the bright stars, which persisted throughout the sub-frames - and also survived a meridean flip (which did preserve symmetry).  This one has me  a bit baffled.

I suspect that much of the issue is the moonlight present - although this was only taken in 50% moon - and the [OIII] taken with the moon down.

Comments, explanations on this one welcome.  Do I simply need to persist longer?
