Description

There are certainly no "Creatures" here, since this is definitely not a 'Black Lagoon'. This massive cloud of hydrogen is home to numerous Bok globules, dark regions of proto-stellar material that will condense to form stellar systems eons from now. But for now, the Lagoon Nebula (M8) is visible with binoculars in the Archer, and resides some 4100 to 4500 light years away toward the center of our home spiral.
