Description

I initially planned to image the entire nebula with my wider FOV small refractor, however I've also been wanting to take a deeper dive into the core of the soul nebula for a while given that there are some really interesting structures and pillars in that region. A lucky break in the weather has allowed me 2 full nights to do so, so i opted to take out the big scope and focus on that smaller dust/gas region instead, and i'm definitely glad i've done so.

Both nights were lightly to moderately windy, however only a small handful of subs ended up being wasted away as a result - i was pleasantly surprised how well the system handled these small gusts (maxing out at 8 km/h), given that the dew shield is pretty much acting as a giant wind sail on the 190 MN. Overall both nights were very successful and i am happy with the final result.
