I never seem to to know when I'm finished with a project but at some point I have to stop and move on. I'm reasonably satisfied with this version of NGC 6888. I had others in which the nebula was bluer but decided to stick with the more red version. This is a HOO image with RGB stars. I tried many combinations of Ha and Olll in pixel math but found the the straight RGB combination with H in red and O in green and blue was most satisfying. However,, I will experiment more with narrow band combinations in the future. I did find that doing a linear fit of the Olll to the Ha was quite beneficial. I then extracted the starless images with Star X Terminator and combined them as described above. After processing the starless image, I combined the RGB images and then split out the stars (unscreened). There are a lot of stars in NGC 6888, so I darkened the RGB image in HT prior to extracting them. I then recombined them in pixel math using the opscreen expression.

Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
