Description

NGC 7635, Sharpless 162, Caldwell 11, or simply the "Bubble Nebula", not to be confused with NGC 6822. This nebula is an HII region surrounded by a molecular cloud that also gives off much Ha. The bubble is created by the stellar wind from a massive and hot central star that is estimated to be 44 solar masses.

Visual observers will be able to see the nebula using as little as an 8" scope, but may have to use averted vision due to the 7 magnitude star near the nebula itself. The central star in the nebula is only about 8.1 magnitude for comparison.
