So I just got a new camera!! First one in a few years. It is the new OGMA AP26CC IMX 571 cooled color camera. Wow!! So amazingly, after buying new gear, it was clear for about 6 hours last night. I was excited to try this new APSC chip camera on my Stellarvue 102 T-Raptor scope. I have a focal reducer on it which brings it to 535mm...but OMG, how much wider the field of view is to my ZWO 183 MCpro! It is like having two different scopes. Now, one of the things that I did not realize is that OGMA, which is an US based company, does not put a UV/IR filter permanently mounted on the front of the chip, as some of the other camera companies do. They provide you with a two inch UV/IR filter and a filter holder for you to use if you so chose. I guess the reasoning behind this is that if you want to shoot in the IR you can. I guess that some folks use this for scientific purposes. Well I imaged this target, and one other not knowing this. I think what we are seeing is the infrared wavelengths in these targets, which is pretty cool. I did have my Antila Triad RGB Ultra filter on, as I did not know about the filterless chip till I called the company today. They are very friendly, and very helpful, and they answer the phone!! So processing was interesting, and I am not sure how accurate the colors are. Anyway, I have installed the filter holder, and filter holder and filter and look forward to our next clear night!! Submitted The date and time when you submitted this image for IOTD/TP consideration.	...
Views by Submitters (available since September 19th, 2023) Every image is assigned to 50% of available Submitters. In the event that at least 80% of them don't view the image before its time in the IOTD/TP process expires, it's assigned to the other 50% of Submitters and the process begins anew.
Promotions by Submitters When 3 distinct Submitters promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for Top Pick status. This requirement, in addition to anonymization of images and distribution to only a subset of them, prevents biases and ensures that the best images are selected.
Promotions by Reviewers When 3 distinct Reviewers promote the image, it moves on to the next stage of the process: evaluation for IOTD status.
Early dismissal Staff members have a lot of images to inspect on a daily basis, and they can dismiss images if they believe they don't meet the requirements for IOTD/TP selection. If an image is dismissed 5 times, it's removed from the process. This streamlines the process and ensures that any bias present in promotions could be overruled by other staff members.
