Description

Just a day before Intuitive Machines' Odysseus lander was to touch down near the lunar south pole we had some excellent clear conditions and I got out my Celestron C6A-XLT and ASI678MC. No barlow, adc, etc only other thing in optical path was UV/IR cut filter. Odysseus landed near the rim of the crater Malapert A, about 190 miles (300 kilometers) from the lunar south pole. I've annotated some identifying craters, from the well known Tycho in a relative line down to identify Malapert A.

This particular video was cut short, only 14 seconds and 810 frames (stacked 250) but came out well. I took a much longer session on the lunar south pole for a mosiac project I'll hopefully finish and upload soon.
