Description

I just wasnted to share an image of M42 that I imaged on 3-21-17. I've imaged M42 a lot. Probably more than I've imaged any other object out there. This image has always fascinated me because it doesn't look like any other image that I've taken of this object or any image that I've seen of this object. The dusty nebulosity surrounding the core and main body of the nebula has a very dramatic look to it. For lack of a better description, it has a 3 dimensional look to my eye. The blue core looks like it is deeper in the sky than the dusty nebulosity or the red main body of the nebula. I did very little if any color modification to the image. As far as I can remember I followed my normal work flow in the processing that I used back then. At full resolution you can more easily see what I've described in my description. I've always thought that the core and red main body of the nebula lies on top of the dusty nebulosity but this image indicates that may not be the case. Anyway I thought it was interesting and I just thought I would share the image
