Description

Happy Friday! Here's an image of the Pinwheel Galaxy (M101) I took early this morning ~ 3:00 AM from my Deerlick Observatory. Found just off the handle of the Big Dipper, the galaxy is roughly 20 million light years from Earth. This galaxy is even larger than our own Milky Way Galaxy. The reddish areas among the spiral arms are regions rich in star formation. Image acquired over a period of 45 minutes with my RASA 8 telescope / ASI294 camera combo.
