Description

Wow!

This has been an extensive project for me, not only because I am renovating my new house and have no time but as this is a new way of working for me with HaLRGB, it consumed a lot of time figuring out how to put this image together. There are so many differnt ways to "compose" an image with the different channels.

I had the view my mind that I would try to reflect the fact that while IC342 has a large angular size, bright and is relatively close at 7-11mly, it is obscured by our own Milkyway, so wanted to reflect its large but faint nature.

I had a few challanges with this project, so had to use some new tools such as Pixelmath. Primary challanges
- Colour balance (Blending the channels)
- Ha continuum extraction
- Challanges with stars (size and colour) especially after adding the lum layer
- Managing light pollution.
- Loss of crispyness
- Calibration

I have used very little NR as I am still not overly pleased with the results, so a work in progress.

This truly is a hiiden galaxy!.............. this project brought back the feelings of when I first started imaging.

I hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
