Description

The Ghost of Jupiter is a planetary nebula in Hydra so named for its supposed resemblance to Jupiter. This is a cropped image so as to bring out more detail in its core.
I tried a different imaging technique which was suggested to me by inspecting other images of this wonderful object. Instead of taking longer exposures, it seems that taking lots of 1 second images and stacking them works quite well. It would seem that treating a small planetary nebula like this as a planet works quite well, so I must try this technique with a bigger scope and a barlow to see what happens. This may seem obvious to many of you but I've learnt something new which i'm quite excited about. Feel free to let me know what you think.
