Description

The spiral galaxy M101, also called the pinwheel galaxy, about 19 million light years away. The galaxy was discovered in 1781 by Charles Messier and Pierre Méchain. William Herschel was the first to observe small spots (which were actually fragments of the spiral arms) surrounding the galaxy. - Taken from my house, adding 106 photos from 300 seconds to 400 ISO, made with a Canon 700d camera and a 200/1000 telescope on a Neq6 pro mount
