Imaged the Soul Nebula (IC 1848) on the nights of January 9/10/13/19/21, 2021. I took ~8 hours of RGB data using an LPS-D1 filter and ~7 hours of narrowband data using an Optolong Lenhance dual narrowband filter. The RGB data was enhanced using the NB data to generate this image.
Imaged with WO GT81 at F4.7 (382 mm focal length) using Flat6A II field flattener/0.8x reducer, IDAS LPS D1 Clip Filter (RGB data), Optolong L-eNhance filter (NB Ha & OIII data), and full spectrum modified Nikon D5300.
RGB data: Total integration time of ~8 hours using 122 subs at ISO200x240 sec. Pre-processed using PixInsight Batch Pre-Processing (BPP) script. Images calibrated using darks, bias, and flats. Star alignment and integration, and post-processing in Pixinsight. Post-processing steps: Cropped, gradient removal with ABE, EZ denoise for noise reduction, Photometric Color Calibration, stretched using masked stretch, Curves Transformation, TGV noise reduction, Morphological Transformation to shrink stars, Local histogram transform, and Color Saturation boost.
NB data: Total integration time of ~7 hours using 68 subs at ISO400x360 sec. See:
