Description

The Helix Nebula is a really loooow target where I live (peaked at 21° altitude).  I could only get a few hours in Ha/O3 but I guess I'll have to go back over it to get a better SNR ratio.

Image is cropped to eliminate field curvature.  I used Bill Blanshan's star reduction Pixel Math formulas to get tighter stars (nice video about those here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rM3-yAcAbZc );

HOO layers combined using this great tutorial on The Coldest Nights Blog : https://thecoldestnights.com/2020/06/pixinsight-dynamic-narrowband-combinations-with-pixelmath/

Description: I think I finally understood how histograms work...much less noise now (well, to my taste at least)

Description: Went back to my Helix Nebula after realizing that tightening those stars led to loss of details and more noise when trying to get those details back. I prefer this version. Flipped upside down (Top is South) it even kinda looks 3D (a torus maybe, with dark dust around?).
