Description

July and August have been terrible months for Astrophotography from my location with cloudy nights and rain.  I have only been able to image 2 nights so far in August on an M17 project in SHO.  M17 is low on my horizon, limiting the time I am able to image it.  I have been able to collect SII and OIII data using the ASI294mm and NB filters during the two nights in August, so far.  But, the prospects for further imaging this month do not look promising and the window to obtain further data on M17 is closing.  I found I had previously imaged M17 back in 2019 with the same telescope, but with an ASI183MC and Optolong LeNhance filter.  So, I processed that data as my HA data, converting to monochrome and creating an SHO image with the ASI294mm NB data and the ASI183MC RGB LeNhance data.  Some day, hopefully, I can get some proper HA data and reprocess.
