Description

Almost 16,000 light years away is the magnificent globular cluster called M12. It's located within the constellation of Ophiuchus. Stargazers often call this object the Gumball globular cluster due to its appearance. The more than 200, 000 stars of the cluster are some of the most ancient suns within our Milky Way galaxy. Due to its proximity to the celestial equator, a geosynchronous satellite (?) can be seen in the southeast quadrant as a diagonal line.
