I have enjoyed astronomy all my life and took 2 astronomy classes in college. I did not get a decent telescope and mount until fall of 2016 and got into astrophotography at that time. I have taken most of my images from Longmont, Colorado on my back patio until July 2024 when I moved to Raleigh, NC. I have also traveled to a couple star parties (rmss.org and www.okie-tex.com/) each year now to get to a nice dark site. I intend to continue to attend Okie-Tex as much as possible despite being in NC. And I usually travel once or twice to other dark sites within 3 hours of my house in Colorado or now NC.
