I began astrophotography late in 2017 with my Canon gear and a Fornax LighTrack II mount. I have a terrestrial photography business that I started in 2011 (Totally Graphic Photography)
Now I also go by GWT's Astro Works for my astro imaging. Astrophotography has over taken my other photographic interests by a huge amount even though I may go many weeks of bad weather.
In March of 2020 I upgraded to a Tele Vue NP127is telescope and an iOptron CEM60EC mount. This past September my imaging caught the eye of Tele Vue Optics on Instagram and we did a blog interview featuring some of my work here:
https://televue.com/televueopticstalk/2020/09/02/np127is-imaging-the-skies-over-upstate-new-york/
Sorry about the tag. It should copy and paste to the interview. This was a huge confidence boost for me me and I strive to continue even though my weather conditions are horrible.
I think that the biggest reason I keep this hobby alive is I am in a Bortle 3-4 sky zone.
In March of 2021, I upgraded to a cooled OSC camera (ZWO 533) and N.I.N.A for data acquisition. This year started well with the new approach but, the weather pattern changed for the worse.
It can be weeks before I get a few clear nights in between sessions and usually only 1 night of a clear sky to get out there. To make matters even worse, I image from my driveway and I am severely limited to the FOV I am able to image from. At best, I can image objects for 2-3 hours per night!
That said, I still strive to gather the best data I can, in the extremely short amount of time I have.
Clear skies to all!!!
