Dear astronomers,
I've been facinated by science all my life and decided to study physics when I was still in Kindergarden. I actually earned a PHD in physics with a thesis on laser-induced fluorescence in (Tokamak) fusion plasmas.
I decided to leave research to pursue a career in top-management consulting and ended up in the Software industry.
Got married and have three kids now. When it was time for them to learn to swim I remember how bad I always was at school (and anywhere else) when it came to sports, so I decided to learn to swim in order to be able to teach my kids. Meanwhile I have qualified for and finished the Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawai'i and my kids are great at every sport.
At some pont in time I realised that all had taught them a lot about sports, but only little about science, so we built our first telescope together and - as they were very interested - bought a 8" newtonian on an EQ6-R Pro. Since then, we're doing astrophotography and the kids love it. For some reason polar alignment with N.I.N.A is their favourite part :-)
Clear skies and boldly go where noone has gone before,
